To qualify as an applicant for the Residency Education & Preparation (REP) program, you must already have an MD or MBBS degree, or an equivalent medical degree from a medical school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools. In addition, you must complete the Residency Education & Preparation application and submit the following:

  • $75.00 USD application fee
  • Proof of medical degree
  • Official Medical school/College transcripts

Applicants who have completed their medical studies in countries having an educational system different from that of the United States, must get all required documents evaluated by an approved international credential evaluation service such as World Education Services or other National Association of Credential Evaluations Services (NACES) members.

  • TOEFL Code assigned to American University of Antigua College of Medicine is B573.

The AUA’s curriculum is taught in English, and all accepted students must be proficient in English. The Admissions Committee may require a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Test System (IELTS) test score and/or require an Admissions Faculty interview from any applicant if it appears that English language proficiency could interfere with that student’s academic success at AUA.

Who needs to take the TOEFL or IELTS?
All applicants who graduated from institutions located in countries where English is not the primary language; and/or
All applicants whose primary language is not English; and/or
As requested by the Admissions Committee if it appears that language could interfere with the student’s academic success at AUA.

  • Personal statement of motivation written by applicant
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Curriculum Vitae/ Resume
  • Copy of current passport

Following acceptance, you must submit a series of additional documents required for elective rotation clearance, and submit a $500.00 USD deposit to hold your seat in the program.

Upon recommendation from an Associate Director of Admissions, our Admissions Committee will make the final decision regarding your acceptance.
